Letter From Our Co-Founders

Salaams all,

Thank you for taking the time to learn more about Muslims in Animation.

We embarked on this journey as creative partners, in 2022, inspired by our 4 month old son who was seeing the world for the first time. It was of great importance to us to inspire him the beauty of Islam through the wings of the arts and the roots of the vast diaspora of our shared cultures.

With over 15 years in the American entertainment industry, we have worked on over 25 major productions, including Nickelodeon’s SpongeBob Universe, Arcane, and most recently working together on A24's "#1 Happy Family USA". These experiences have proven to us the potential of animation to build bridges and create worlds where viewers lose themselves in the tapestry of the artwork and find themselves more compassionate through storytelling.and a deeper appreciation for the teams that come together to create a shared vision.

With this technical knowhow and spiritual curiosity, we want to create a space for people of all backgrounds to come together to create a space that facilitates imagination and authentic representation. Our shared vision is to weave a tapestry of narratives so interconnected that one cannot be told without the other, encouraging us all to see ourselves in others and embrace our shared humanity. Join us in celebrating this journey of creativity and connection. Let's look forward to the stories yet to be told.

Best,

Irma & Jeff
